Musfiqur's unbeaten 54

Another stellar bowling performance underpinned a third consecutive victory for Nagenahira Nagas, as they breezed past Basnahira Cricket Dundee's146 with six wickets and one over to spare. Shaminda Eranga's three for 20 from four overs andan economical spell from Sachith Pathirana ensured Cricket Dundee could not launch a sustained surge at any stage, and Mushfiqur Rahim's cool unbeaten 54 guided the Nagas unfussily to the modest target. Once again Eranga troubled batsmen with seam, on a pitch that retained enough spice to accommodate movement in both directions despite one match already having been played on it earlier inthe evening. An away-swinger caught the outside of Dhanushka Gunathilleke's bat, his drive going to mid off, andCameron Borgas fell in similar fashion to Eranga much later in the innings. Sachithra Serasinghe's bottom edge completed Eranga's haul, but the dot balls amid the breakthroughs were almost as crucial to his side's cause. Dilshan was forced into reticence once again through early wickets and tight bowling, and his 35 took 31 deliveries. DimuthKarunaratne and Borgas also got starts, but neitherwere able to spur the run rate to any great extent asthe Nagas continued to get regular breakthroughs. Imran Nazir retured hurt early for the Nagas, after he pulled a muscled playing a pull stroke, but Angelo Mathews and Mushfiqur combined to provide substance to the chase, with a measured third-wicket stand of 57. Both batsmen collected the runs on offer from the spinners, and scored heavily square of the wicket off the seam bowlers, while striking theodd boundary to keep up with the required rate. Mathews' demise for 30 did not deter Mushfiqur, who found another solid partner in Angelo Perera, and the pair set about closing the game out quickly with a spate of boundaries. A six to Mushfiqur, off the last ball of the penultimate over, took him past fifty and secured the tournament top-spot for the Nagas, who appear to be the form side of the early stages.

Ganguly desiring Kholi as indian Captain

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed his faith in young vice-captain Virat Kohli ’s abilities, terming him the future of Indian cricket. "I think much of Indian cricket's future will rest on Virat Kohli now. I see a lot of talent in India, but they should be given time to settle down at the international level," he saidwhile speaking at a promotional event in Kolkata. Kohli, who has played 8 Tests (with 491 runs to his credit) and 90 ODIs (with 3886 runs to his name) for the national side, recently came into the spotlight thisyear after overcoming a brash attitude to emerge as a mature cricketer. Ranked among India ’s brightest young talents, the 23-year-old was preferred, over many othermore experienced candidates, to take up the vice-captaincy of the Indianteam following a valiant outing against Sri Lanka earlier this year. Following India’s poor showing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (a 4-match Test series Down Under which they lost 0-4),India carried the same insipid form into the Commonwealth Bank tri-series in Australia . Although they failed to make it to the tournament finals, their last match against Sri Lanka at Hobart in February this year saw Kohli smashing an unbeaten 133 to redeem the team, despite the lost chance at a tournament win. The performance earned him the post of vice-captain, and the right-hander did not disappoint, carrying the same form into the following Asia Cup in March, during which he registered scores of 108, 66, and 183. The young batsman continued to deliver consistent match-winning performances, going on to score a two centuries (106, 128*) during India’s recently wrapped-up limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka, during which they won the 5-match ODI series 4-1, and the only T20I by 39 runs. With the need to reap the benefits of the experience of veterans such as Virender Sehwag , Sachin Tendulkar , and Gautam Gambhir , along with bringing in youngsters who can be groomed to take over once the experienced cricketers retire, hopes for the Indian team’s future have been pinned on Kohli by several veterans. The fiery young batsman has a chance to continue his meteoric rise as the Indian team prepare for a jam-packed season ahead, which includes the ICC World Twenty20. The mega event affords the Men in Blue another chanceat glory on the international stage, following their 2011 ICC World Cup triumph.
